BIKERS AT DONINGTON

Wayne’s On Yer Bike column this month about bikers gathering for pleasure coincided with finding some photos amongst a donation of memorabilia from the late John Myers. These photos were taken at Donington in 1937 when bikers of the day also got together to have some fun. On this occasion it was in the form of a camping weekend and gymkhana at the famous circuit and it can be seen that it attracted lots of spectators. Apart from the pyramid of riders, the ‘look ma, no hands’ stunt in the other photo is a bit more daring, especially on a grass field.

Don’t expect to see Wayne performing such an act in the near future, though…
